Exciting News and A Giveaway!

Here lately, life has been kinda blah. Like seriously. It's been snowy/icy since last Thursday. Boo.

See what I mean. It's this way all across Missouri.

This is Jefferson City (the capitol) And that building way in the back is the capitol building. I've been there once. It was a few years ago. We were on our way to Columbia for a concert (de javu?) and we stopped. We participated in bathroom pictures of course. Who wouldn't want to take duckfaced bathroom pictures in the capitol building of their state??

So yeah, it's been a bore to be here. I've had extra good company though...you know my computer and my phone. Lawd thank you for the internet. Well, today as I was buying more concert tickets, I checked in to my blog and what to my wondering eyes did I see...well this!

100 followers! You guys are awesome. Seriously I'm so happy right now. I love all of you and thank you for helping this blog grow. I appreciate all your comments more than any of you know. And all my bloggy friends I've made, well, they are amazing too. It's such a surreal thing to have people from far and wide become really good friends. It's just so amazing. Thank y'all so much!

I've decided that I'm going to do my first giveaway. It's going to be pretty simple, because well, that's how I like things. I'm going to be giving away a couple of my favorite things. This list was hard to come up with because my favorite things all have to do with tv/music. I'm a bum. I know

$5 Starbucks card// A redbull
Something glittery (i'm not sure what yet)/ chapstick

I love me some caramel apple spice from starbucks. I don't know how I'm gonna get redbull into a package, but I'll figure it out. See, I love glitter/sparkly/shiny things, and I think I have an idea of what it will be. Consider it a surprise, and I promise, it won't be a container of glitter! Last, but certainly not least, Blistex Raspberry Lemonade Blast. This is my jam. I really love this stuff. Soooo much. And who knows, I could end up throwing extra stuff in this box!

To enter, just leave a comment telling me somethings you can't live without. Giveaway ends Wednesday March 6th! And thanks again for reading this blog of mine. I adore you!

Country Music

I shouldn't use technology. It's true. It just pisses me off more and more everyday. I mean all I want to do is get my ringtones back from iTunes but can't. And I want to add some damn videos to Youtube but can't. My computer is being uber slow for some reason. Also, what's this bullshit that I have to have a Google + account to get a YouTube account? I deleted my Google + for a reason and now I have to start another one. Boo.
End Rant//

So, if you remember I went and saw Luke Bryan this weekend and it was fabulous! My auntie, momma, and boyfriend all went with me. Boyfriend isn't a country music person but I think this concert might have helped change his mind a little bit. He really liked Florida Georgia Line.

Before we left on Saturday, I had to get my hair done. It was rough. Of course I got it dyed red. That's the only color I dye it. And it got cut a little but not enough! I also got my eyebrows done for free because my birthday was this month and Ulta gives you a free eyebrow wax during your birthday month. Well, they did, but now they're doing away with it. Sad face. After my beautifying was done I had dinner with my momma at Qdoba, (it's kind of like Chipotle if I understand right) and then we had to go find a shirt for me to wear. Because duh, it's not good enough if I already own it! My shopping trip for the shirt sucked major. I couldn't find anything sparkly that I wanted. But i got a bunch of cute accessories.

They had some weird little drier thing I've never seen before
I look washed out and you can't even really see the depth of the red. It's awesome though.

I have real glasses but I really want some cute fake ones.

We got up bright and early Saturday morning to leave. To say I was excited was putting it lightly. We had a 4 hour drive there which wasn't so bad. When we got to Columbia we went to eat at a local bar and grill called Shiloh. Columbia is a college town which I adore! The food was just ok at the restaurant but the beer was good! I had the buffalo chicken wrap. I love bufflao chicken anything but jeez there buffalo sauce had a ton of vinegar in it. I thought it tasted like pickles. lol.

After that we drove around trying to find the venue because I had to pick up our tickets at 430. After we found it it was time to go get ready! Boyfriend slept while we did that. I couldn't believe he could take a nap with all the giggling and talking we were doing.

Me and Auntie

Me and Momma

I will never be a fashion blogger. It took me like 5641351 tries to get this picture decent. I don't even really like it. lol. You can't even really see what my black shirt looks like. Blah.

And these were the most important part!

Off to the concert we went. I got the tickets at 430 and they didn't let us in until 630. Long two hour wait but so worth it. I didn't know where our seats would be until I picked up my tickets. I looked at the email showing how the venue was laid out and compared our seats to the tickets. I was disappointed because it didn't look very close but I was wrong! Our seats were awesome though. While we were waiting they had a contest to sign up to win meet and greets. We would have been happy with anything but of course we were super pumped for the Luke Bryan ones. They drew the first name and it was Kimberly...my aunt's name was Kimberly. I stopped breathing for a second. Then they said the last name, wasn't us. They drew the third and said Kim, and I stopped breathing again. Again, not us. I'm surprised I didn't have a heart attack. lol.

First up was Florida Georgia Line, I wasn't too excited for them, but turns out they are really good! Even boyfriend likes them. After they came out I went back up stairs to get more booze and buy a t-shirt. I hate the t-shirt lines. They are so unorganized. We stood in line for them for about 20 minutes. Then I went to the booze line and didn't have my id. I didn't think I needed it seeing as how the first time I bought booze they gave me a little green bracelet. Turns out "it's just to let security know that you can drink legally." Insert pissyness here. If it's ok for the security why is it not ok to buy more with? At this point I had missed at lesat 30 minutes of Thompson Square. So I went back to my seat just in time for them to sing Glass and Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not.

Florida Georgia Line...I hate how cameras make it seem that stuff is farther away than it is.

Thompson Square

And then it was time for Luke! Guys seriously, even if he wasn't such a cutie, he puts on one hell of a show. Especially for this being his first headlining tour. He interacted with the audience so much! He kept taking phones from the people in the pit and taking pictures of himself with them. He pulled people out of the audience to come on stage, he was just great. If I had money I would totally go see him again. I liked it that much. And yeah, he can shake it. Wow.

Enjoy!

The Weekend

So I know you're all wondering if I'm going to come back to the blog since I told you that I may leave with Luke if he's asks. Well, he did ask but I still decided to come back :) because I love you all so much!

The concert was amazing. Soooo awesome. I want to post about it but I woke up on Sunday feeling like shit. My body was trying to get sick all last week but knew it had to wait until Sunday so we could enjoy ourselves. And that's just what it did. I'm the lucky winner of a beautiful sinus infection. Yuck.

That means no recap today. I'm typing this on my phone because the brightness of the computer hurts my eyes. So hopefully tomorrow I can hook you up!

Ill leave you with this. And although it looks like we were far away, we had great seats. Like, I could see the sweat on his forehead great. See to tomorrow cupcakes!

Friday's Letters

It's Friday...I'm off this whole freaking weekend. Wanna know why...I get to go see Luke Bryan tomorrow for my birthday. Yep, my birthday was over a week ago but I didn't have a get together because I wanted to save money for this. I'm so super duper excited. It's going to be myself, Blake, Momma, and my Auntie! We weren't sure if she could go since her surgery was on my birthday but on Wednesday we got the ok. I can't freaking wait.

Dear Friday, I'm so happy to finally see you. After 8 days of work you're the bright light at the end of the tunnel. We have a super day planned. I'm going to lunch with dad, buying myself a new shirt, getting the hair done, and eyebrows waxed. Gotta look hot for this weekend. Ya know, I may not come back. Luke might ask me to marry him.

Dear Luke, Gahhh I'm so excited for you. You're openers aren't that exciting to me but I won't turn down seeing a band live. I'll be shaking it for you so hopefully you notice and whisk me away.

Dear Boyfriend, I know that you aren't a country music fan but thank you so much for coming with me. I'm ready to get my drink on and sing sweet country songs to you all night. And please don't get too jealous. I still love you the mostest.

Dear Momma, I'm so happy you're coming. I haven't been to a concert with you since Sugar Ray. I was like 9. Don't mind me getting my drink on. That's what concerts are for. Thanks for coming with!

Dear Auntie, I don't even know where to start. I haven't told blog world about your amazing news so I guess I'll share now. CONGRATULATIONS ON BEING CANCER FREE! You did it. I'm so incredibly proud of you. You've been so strong and I admire that. And I'm excited you get to come with me. We bought the tickets so long ago, and this cancer shit almost interfered. Not now. =)

Dear Self, Have fun this weekend! Live a little. You deserve this. It's been awhile since you could let lose so do it. Don't over plan and just go with the flow. Don't fight it. It will all work out. We do need to get on the working out train though. come on girl. I know you can do it.

Dear Happiness Project, I started you over a week ago and haven't picked you up since. I even marked in you. That's a big deal for me. I'm ready to pick you up and start my own happiness project.

Dear Cupcakes, That would be you reading this - thanks so much. I love your face. I haven't been a very good blogger lately but you guys still choose to stick around. I love blogland. Have a great weekend, I know I will!

My Birthday - A Week Later

Happy Humpday Thursday Cupcakes! I originally started this post on Wednesday but I didn't finish posting it until late last night. Thanks for all your sweet advice on how to stay awake. I actually went to bed at a decent time Tuesday night and I felt pretty good yesterday, but I didn't get anything done last night. That's a whole other project I need to work on. I know that I promised a birthday review and today that's what I'm going to do.

My birthday was fabulous. I was not planning on having a great birthday. My aunt had to have her surgery that day and i was just a hot mess. Not excited about the day but still excited it was my day. I worked in the morning and everybody was super sweet to me. Write that down. My boss let me go home first since it was my day. =) Some people weren't very happy about it but oh well. When I got home my momma and I went to Mini's Valentine Tea Party at her school. She had a meltdown a couple days before because I wasn't going to be able to come so we surprised her and it was fantastic! Unfortunately the tea party sucked because children have no manners and were chewing with their mouths open LOUDLY. I about lost it. I don't care who it is, that sound is fucking nasty. Anyway. Here are my birthday goodies.

A cute mustache scarf

this necklace is from the boy. He did good =)

the candles and the blanket.

I forgot to take pictures of my beautiful journal my auntie got me (she also got me the candles) and Magic Mike. Funny story behind that one...I got the same thing for my mom for Valentine's day. Now we have two copies. Great minds think a like! And I got some $$$. I can't really complain.

After Mini's tea party we went home and I tried to watch Pitch Perfect. What I saw was really good but when Mini is around watching a movie is impossible. So we got ready for dinner. Mom, Mini, Wife, Boyfriend, and I all went out to dinner at Outback. And it was damn good. This is my Valentine to all of them.

Yes, I took this picture myself and I didn't edit a single thing. I'm super proud of it. And those damn cupcakes were delicious. If you have a local SmallCakes I recommend going there now.

After Outback three cool kids went out for a drink. Our local watering hole just got this really cool jukebox that also takes pictures. However it doesn't print them =( but I do have it in my phone.

All in all it was a wonderful birthday. Here's some more pictures.

Mini all dressed up for her tea party.

we were on our way to get boyfriend and these two passed out in the back seat.

Mini says that Wife is her best friend.

All of us.

I was sad though because I wanted pictures with each of them and didn't get any. I have to get better at this picture thing!

Linking up with Natalie.

So Tired.

Hi loves. Hope you had a good weekend. I still have birthday stud to tell you but I'm so tired. I haven't been commenting or doing anything worth anything in blog land. It's taking all I have to not nap right now. How do you stay awake? I need something and coffee is not the answer. Between school work and the mini it's all I can do to not fall asleep as soon as my ass hits the couch. I'm working 8 days in a row... Wahhhh. But that's the price ill pay to go watch Luke Bryan shake it for me this weekend. Any advice on how to wake up?? Please give it to me.

Swap Stuffs!

I participated in two Valentine's Day swaps because well...it's my birthday month and I love swaps. I got a lot of awesome stuff too! The two girls I got hooked me up!

The first swap was hosted by Erin at Love, Fun and Football and Megan at Table For Three. It was the Spread the Love swap. And I got the best goodies! My partner was Ashley from High Heels & Steering Wheels and girl hooked it up! She sent me an awesome package because I mentioned that my birthday was also Valentine's Day.

Love, Fun & Football

Not shown are the other loofah and a cute pair of socks! The loofah is in my shower and the socks are in my laundry. They were so cute though. Again, thanks Ash, I loved loved loved my box! Oh, and a tumbler. I forgot about it because it was't with the rest of my stuff. It was actually put up where things go. Hahaha that doesn't happen here!

When I opened the package there was pink confetti/grass in it and it was awesome! She knows how to send a package.

The second swap I joined was Will You Be My Valentine hosted by the fabulous Kailyn at Sealed With A Kiss and Eryka at abcde. Partners in this swap were secrets. I think secret swaps are the best! I got Abbigale from True Blue Abbi and getting to know this girl was fun! She's so adorable. I sent her some fruit roll ups, lip gloss, some gum because she loves it, and an adorable headband that I almost bought for myself. I didn't take a picture but here's a picture of Abbi with it on!

I got a package from Alacia at Hoodwinked. She sent me a beautiful bracelet and some really pretty tape. My mini took the tape so unfortunately I don't have a picture of it. An example of the tape is on the enevelope she sent me. Look at it! She's so crafty my heart stopped when I opened it.

I love pink!

So yeah, I joined some great swaps and I couldn't be happier with what I got. You're probably expecting a birthday review but that will come Monday because I'm tired. Happy weekend cupcakes!

Happy Birthday To...

Happy My Birthday guys! I have to work today. Woof. So I left you in the very capable hands of one of my favorite bloggers Jordan from Musings of a Twenty Something! She has a great surprise in store for you today!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know you are expecting to hear a Happy Valentine's Day but today isn't just about love or chocolate or flowers (wait, it can be about chocolate...) because it's the fabulous Chloe's and my birthdays! And obviously that is more important.

When Chloe suggested we guest post for one another because we're birthday twinkies I got really excited! We met through this blogworld we've all grown to love and as we've gotten to know each other better, I've realized we have a lot in common.

Exhibit A:

We both have significant others in our lives who are of a different religion. It's an interesting journey, to say the least, and it was nice being able to vent trade stories regarding this unique circumstance. Obviously, they're both great guys but sometimes it's hard coming from different religious backgrounds. Regardless, we love them and they love us and that is what matters. Meet Blake and Dereck, the men who aren't afraid to call us on our bullshit and actually know how (or at least try really hard) to make us happy.

Exhibit B:

We both hate don't get Taylor Swift aka Tswift aka TSTFUPLZ. Look, #1) she is not a real country singer and #2) her songs get stuck in my head for days on end and it drives me crazy. Her songs are catchy as hell but seriously? She needs to drop the good girl act already because she's dated a plethora of guys over the past few years and then whined about them through her songs. Is this a genius way to become rich? Absolutely! Does it make sense that people still view her as an angel? Hell no. I just don't get it! Also: Dear Grammy People, I don't give a rat's ass about Taylor's reaction to every.single.thing. Please just focus on what's going on up on the stage or at least show us someone else. With Love, Jordan. And Everyone else in the world.

I rest my case.

Exhibit C:

We are both sassy. Fiery. Edgy. Cut through the bullshit, what you see is what you get, take it or leave type women. The first time I really we'd be friends was when she shared her OIL (Over It List) and included some things that I still love: chevron and "cray." (I actually don't think I own anything with chevron... shit. That just makes me even less of a blogger.) BUT we decided we could still be friends because #1 on that list is Taylor Swift and we bonded quickly over that one. We also aren't afraid to get down to the nitty gritty. Sometimes life gets tough and it isn't always rainbows and butterflies. Chloe shared her experience with deciding to see a doctor during a rough time in her life and I shared my experience with anxiety.

We also both really enjoy anything with carbs. This is one we try not to discuss so much because we're too busy trying to forget that little fact and get our asses to work out instead but this is about what we have in common and I know we both share a love for carbs! (Who doesn't really?)

Meeting and befriending Chloe has made me appreciate this blogworld on a different level. When I first started blogging, I never in a million years thought I'd make friends. I did it to write and to create what has basically become an online scrapbook of my life; basically I wanted a larger space than 140 characters. The support and encouragement I've found here has been something else.

Happy birthday Chloe. You are fabulous and I hope you have/had a badass birthday!

P.S. Hope it didn't get too cray.

The Walking Pins

One more day! One more day! Yep, my birthday is tomorrow. Still accepting gifts =). But since it's Wednesday that means it's not my birthday but Pinterest day. Woot woot.

We'll get to the pins in a sec. I need to talk to you about my new current obsession. You might have heard of it. It's called The Walking Dead.

I AM IN LOVE. Not kidding. Yes, I used to be the person that always said they weren't going to watch it. I refused and I hated on it. Now I take it back. See, Sunday boyfriend's dish receiver wasn't working and we had watched all the movies on his laptop so I picked out something to watch. I bought the first season for him on Black Friday fully intending to never watch it. Well I put it in planning on going to bed but that first season sucked me in. And now I'm addicted.

I can't decide if I'd rather marry Rick or Daryl. I love them both. And I would love to punch Shane in the face. We started the second season and thank goodness he cut off that god awful head of hair he had going on. So here we go with some Walking Dead inspired pins!

Source: google.ca via Dayle on Pinterest

I could go on and on but I need to wake the man up so that we can finish the second season. And does anybody know where I can watch the first half of the third season. I would love to catch up before Sunday!
